We want to first extend our sincere Thanks to all of the staff, volunteers and people of the community of Lithopolis Ohio for coordinating this incredible day at the HONEYFEST-2008! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
The festival took place at the "Wagnalls Memorial And Library Community Center" - Located at - 150 East Columbus Street, Lithopolis, Ohio 43136 Phone (614) 837- 4765. The community center and grounds were incredible! History abounds while walking the walk ways around the center. This community has taken PRIDE in caring for a piece of Ohio history!
Our day started out with rain and quite early! When we arrived at the check in station there was already a buzz around the people who were eager to help! We were directed to our space and the work began!
We set up and watched the rainy day turn to blue bird skies! It was a beautiful day! Thanks to the Honeyfest coordinators we were under a tree which provided us with all day shade and a great environment for our ART!
Our candles were well received by the visitors! People were surprised by our candles on bases...Seeing that we dip each flower in beeswax before placing them on granite or marble bases! We even use BeeWax to attach the flowers to each base! It's a labor of "ART & LOVE!"

Arnold Crabtree - "THE BEE MAN"...Arnold Crabtree's interest in bees started in the 4th grade when he picked up a book, "The Real Book About Bees" to do a school report. It all took off from there. When he married and had his own garden that wasn't getting pollinated, he bought his first couple of bee hives. He's worked with bees ever since and it has turned into a beekeeping experience! Once while working with a large bee hive he tripped and fell sending the bees into a frenzy. He was surprised when the bees did not attack. He stayed calm and it all worked out. To this day he still works around bees and cares for bee hives. In "2007", he was able to graft a "queen bee" and has since been producing "queen bees" to promote production of honey bee hives. He worked and promoted his idea for a honey fest which turned out to be a great success for his community! During the first honey fest he set up to wear the "Bee Beard" and has had a repeat performance this year! BRAVO! Arnold Crabtree & Family! You're Success Brings Happiness To Many, Many People! Thanks For Turning Your Hobby Into A Gift Shared By All!
Take a moment and click on the attached video to watch as Arnold Crabtree becomes the amazing, "Bee Beard Man!" This takes a lot of courage and experience, please don't try this at home!
The "HONEYFEST" was a festival to promote Bee Farmers, Honey Bees & Honey! At this time in our lives it is so important to help support our local Bee Farms And The Local Farms In Your Area! Strive to make it a point to purchase honey and produce from local stores and stands throughout OHIO! You're helping your family stay healthy & you're helping the farming industry in Ohio! Plus, you're helping our planet move in a positive direction, "GOING GREEN"!
The wonderful thing about the HONEYFEST was the gathering of all the BEEKEEPERS! These people are doing us all a big service by producing Bee Farms to help with Ohio Agricultural. Honey bees produce wonderful honey but their most important role is as pollinators. Apples, cherries, melons, and almonds are just a few of the goodies we eat that need the help of the honey bee to pollinate the plants. The work the beekeepers and the bees do help enhance the productivity of our agricultural markets. These hard working people keep it all natural and help promote good health, environmentally good choices for big farmers, help keep it "home grown" in Ohio, and offer YUMMY alternatives to Processed Sugar! There is no comparison to Natural Honey! If You Would Like To Get Involved And Start Your Own Honey Bee Hobby - Become A "BeeKeeper"! You Can Contact The Central Ohio BeeKeepers Association - For More Information Visit Their WebSite: www.centralohiobeekeepers.com
The "HONEYFEST" Was Complete With Its Very Own Mascot...Meet The "Honey Bee" Who Offered Hugs To All The Visitors! "Bee" Still My Heart!
